Abu Dhabi. You see, Al Ghadeer is just 30 minutes away from both cities. It’s especially convenient when it comes to the price, as residents can rent a 3-bedroom villa for just AED80,000 a year. You won’t get as good a deal with Dubai’s property prices at the moment. The community itself is quiet and family-friendly. It has a large supermarket, gyms, pools and even a recently opened alcohol shop.
And if you like to get to know your neighbors, this may be the community for you. The residents are quite interesting, with many being entrepreneurs with side businesses ranging from customized soap to handmade jewelry. They take it upon themselves to host many events around the year, where they feature bouncy castles, clowns and winter festivals.
The downside, however, is that the area is secluded, so if you don’t find what you need in the nearby shops, you’d have to drive a long way (30 mins approximately) to get to more populated areas. And when it rains, it pours, with some villas getting horribly flooded.
While the community also boasts a lake, it is full of mosquitos, which makes it difficult to enjoy, especially in the wintertime. Speaking of water, the water pressure is weak, and residents have had to resort to bringing their own extra pump to fix the problem.
